Mike is HOME HOME

(Our last night in Columbus, OH)

Yeah!!! Mike is home, home. We had a wonderful surprise late Monday night. Mike called just outside of Memphis and told me he would probably stop an hour or two after Texarkana but surprised us by continuing to drive late into the night. We woke Mary Grace up.... the angel looked up at her daddy, wrapped her arms around his neck and said "daddy is home" before closing her sleepy eyes and going back to sleep. Jake gave his daddy a big ol smile the next morning when he woke up. Maverick was also pretty excited the next morning to see his daddy! (What a great watch dog- he didn't even hear Mike walk in at 1 am.)

We are settling in and trying to get on our off season schedule- soooooooo different than our baseball season schedule! Mike has mowed the lawn..... twice! He must miss it when he is gone! Mary Grace won't let Mike out of her sight and if he says he is going somewhere, for instance to the store..... MG has to know how long will he be gone and he has to promise her he will be right back. We eat dinner together every night which I miss sooooo much during the baseball season.

Mike has some exciting news. He was contacted by our local sports talk radio station and they want him to come to the station and be part of a show on Saturday. If he does well they might offer him a regular spot. He is very excited as this might be his second career when he decides he is done with baseball..... not any time soon.

I am so blessed..... the love of my life is back home, our family is all together and we don't have to pack a bag for long time!!! Just wanted to share my joy!
